Media Bias and the Fog of War

Texas Conservative blogged a great article on The Fog Of War… that is right on track!

I have long been upset at how the news is so highly filtered by the time it reaches our ears from Iraq. The troops’ victories and accomplishments are getting explained away on the editor’s table with liberal word-smithing and it’s making me see red!

It’s specifically and most importantly in times of war that we need our country to be behind our war efforts. We aren’t oppressors and mostly prefer to be left alone. Yet, when we’re called to intervene or we take preimptive measures to protect our interests or our borders, we are spit upon by the general populace on the planet. We’re damned if we don’t and damned if we do.

Go read the article. It’s a great few minutes of your time!

Just read a great piece from MattMargolis.com, entitled: There’s No “Gotchya!” For Newsday’s Pinkerton and all I can come up with is that James Pinkerton’s article is just another instance of the media trying to advance a “Democrat” bias against a sitting “Republican” president. So distasteful.

We in the blogosphere will continue to present the never-ending sideshow of virulent hypocrisies of the liberal here in America.

Just clipped from: Yahoo! News – US Asked Falluja Insurgents to Stop Firing -Bremer.

“We haven’t imposed any terms at the moment, we’re just trying to get a cease-fire in place and we have asked the insurgents to stop attacking the Marines,” Bremer said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“What we are trying to do is simply get the forces to stop firing, have the insurgents stop firing on the Marines. And then we’ll have a delegation from the governing council go in and we’ll try to find out how we can proceed from there,” Bremer said from Baghdad, in one of several interviews with U.S. television talk shows. “

What part of “THE UNITED STATES DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS” do you not understand, Mr. Bremer? Good grief!

Some American conservatives are absolutely cannot understand why Liberal Democrats hold some of the views they do. The concepts they espouse are absolutely cloaked in this Me-too-fairness ideology of modernistic wantonnism but hardly new concepts. Although most folks rally behind the banner of fairness or equitable distribution, the roots of Liberalism are much older than this country.

John J. Ray, owner of the marvelous Dissecting Leftism blog, has written an absolutely enlightening piece on THE MOTIVATIONS OF POLITICAL LEFTISTS. It is “good reading” and is a very provoking analysis of liberalism.

Okay. I knew not to do it. I really did. It was late in the wee hours of the morning (just a few minutes ago) and I was clearing out some old, useless tables in my Blog database (tables from another web application) and the absolutely unthinkable happened: I accidentally deleted my entire database! Aaarrgh! < --- blood curdling, gut-wrenching scream.

I’m absolutely sick. I’m absolutely sick to my stomach. I had about two months of unbacked up blogging posts that are completely gone.

So… we live and learn. I hope my hosting provider makes backups…
