In typical rock star fashion, the “Obamessiah” has captured the hearts of the entire globe. National leaders are rallying behind Barak Obama like crazy-eyed teenage girls, their hearts all beating nervously trying to catch a glimpse of the exhalted One.

EU’s Solana congratulates Obama on winning U.S. election — The European Union (EU)’s top diplomat, Javier Solana, sent a message of congratulations Wednesday to U.S. president-elect Barack Obama on his victory in Tuesday’s election. “I want to congratulate Barack Obama on his impressive election victory,” Solana, secretary-general of the EU Council, said in a statement.

…then there’s this from Italy:

Italy’s Berlusconi hails “suntanned” Obama — Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi gave an enthusiastic, if unconventional, welcome on Thursday to the election of Barack Obama, citing among his attributes youth, good looks and a “suntan.”

…and here’s Castro making a statement:

Cuba hails Obama win, hopes US embargo will ease — Cuba hails US President-elect Barack Obama’s presidential election victory and would one day welcome an easing of the 46-year-old US trade embargo, Foreign Investment Minister Marta Lomas said in a statement.

Not to be outdone, here’s the greatest endorsement of all:

Hamas praises Obama win as ‘historic victory for world’ — The Hamas terrorist group believes the election of Sen. Barack Obama is an “historic victory” for the world and an opportunity to change U.S. foreign policy toward engagement with America’s foes, Ahmed Yousef, Hamas’ chief political adviser in the Gaza Strip, told WND in an exclusive interview today.

Yousef, speaking by cell phone from Gaza, said Hamas is drafting a letter of congratulation to be sent tomorrow directly to Obama. He said the current draft of the letter praises the president-elect as “another John F. Kennedy, or great Roosevelt.”

“We want to be one of the first to congratulate him,” Yousef said.

It was mentioned to me, before the final debate, just how fast it became apparent that the Democrat party elite was beginning to feel “buyer’s remorse” at their golden child, Barak Obama. Well, the high is strong, the euphoria is still strong…let’s hope the dude’s got some crazy mad skills we never knew about in the “Clean up Washington D.C.” category.

I can dream, can’t I?

I think it is safe to say that I share the same feelings about Bobby Jindal as does Michelle Malkin. Thus far in his political career in Louisiana, he’s proven himself invaluable to the state as a whole, since the Katrina disaster.

I really hope common sense and reason prevail to Jindal’s opposition. Louisiana has suffered a terrible blow and is gallantly trying to rebuild its coastal infrastructure, namely the city of New Orleans, along with their collective spirit as a state.

As an aside and being a Texan, Louisiana has always held a special place for me. As a child, I attended family Reunions in the small town of Logansport. In High School, I went to band camps at McNeese State University. Later, I played in a national Jazz Band competition and frolicked around the French Quarter when I was in college.

So, I’m rooting for Jindal in his quest to clean up the smelly bureaucracy that Louisiana politics has become — we saw just how “smelly” in the Katrina aftermath. Such a spirit of “entitlement” has vexed this great state. We need an party-independent revival of self-reliant, “pick yourself up by your own bootstraps” kind of public officials… continue reading…
