Credit Michelle Malkin with the goal on this one. She has found a Democratic lock-stepper that isn’t lock-stepping with their party line of War in Iraq – Bad, Troops – come home now. Nope, she’s not talking about Joe Lieberman. It’s Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano. Now let’s see how fast the party disassociates themselves from Gov. Napolitano. Can someone get an accurate count of how many lonely democrats there are out there — wasting away by themselves in the silent night with their consciences still intact? If this is a sign of things to come, I can hardly wait for the day when there is a national consensus on this conflict that is half a world away. Imagine how well our troops will fight, how fast our battles are won and how high the name of America will be once again, when we are happy with the national “face” we see in our own mirrors.
Just ran across this highly charged article from WorldNetDaily.com.
President Bush believes America should be more of an idea than an actual place, a Republican congressman told WND in an exclusive interview.
“People have to understand what we’re talking about here. The president of the United States is an internationalist,” said Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. “He is going to do what he can to create a place where the idea of America is just that – it’s an idea. It’s not an actual place defined by borders. I mean this is where this guy is really going.”Tancredo lashed out at the White House’s lack of action in securing U.S. borders, and said efforts to merge the U.S. with both Mexico and Canada is not a fantasy.
The moment President Bush started talking with Vicente Fox while pimping the whole Guest Worker program because “Americans won’t do these jobs” mantra, I’ve been leery of what his ultimate goals might be. The Trans-Texas Corridor movement scares the heck out of me. The War on Terror, fought with one arm tied behind our military scares the heck out of me. The self-perpetuating hatred of freedom and liberty from the ACLU and left-leaning elements in our nation scare the heck out of me. But one thing above all other political, earthly things scares the heck out of me… the possibility that the sovereignty of our country, the worth and validity of the US Constitution and freedom and liberty of the US citizenry might be in jeopardy by globalist, one-world government, communist factions — That our President and many of our highest government officials are in agreement to the same dreadful ideologies that we spent decades trying to defeat is anathema to the legacy of our great statesmen and founding fathers.
