Greyhawk gives a History Lesson on the Iraq War
Posted by: DeWaun In: American History| War & The Military ()
America, wrapped in all of her glorious blessings, suffers from a short memory. The history of the Revolutionary War, the meaning of our Constitution, Gettysburg and the Civil War, the Fall of the Berlin Wall and now the War in Iraq have all fallen victim to a surreptitious blurring of meaning and accuracy. Instead of jealously guarding and conserving the original meaning and histories of our existense, we seem to strive to progress, liberally, beyond our mental and spiritual borders, having no thought of where our collective feet will land or where we will have ended up as a nation.
“One of the most blatant – and most effective – examples has been the highly successful propagation of the idea that the war in Iraq began as a misguided result of the terrorist attacks on the US on September 11th 2001.
…
Thus, history is being rewritten, and free speech is being cheapened by some who employ it the most and cherish it the least – even as Americans fight and die to uphold their rights to do so.” — Greyhawk
A Brief History of a Long War (Iraq, 1990-2003) is an attempt by a noble indivual to present the historical timeline of the Iraq war through three US Presidents. It is worthy of your time. It is a must-read work.
